On-Ice Official Coaching Program

The majority of on-ice officials in the DBOA will be coached this season, some more than others. The goal of the coaching program is to help develop officials within our Association so we can keep producing quality on-ice officials. Despite what all team coaches think, no referee is perfect and we can learn something every game!

Our referee list is broken down based on levels each official can do. After successful coaching sessions, they can be bumped up to higher levels. On the flip side, the same can happen in reverse for poor coaching sessions. We hold our officials to a very high standard and expect a strong effort every ice time.
